AstraZeneca has expanded and strengthened its respiratory products portfolio, We have made strides in bringing therapies to asthma patients. Our mission and vision are to develop differentiated therapeutics for widely prevalent respiratory disease conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), by utilizing a proprietary drug delivery platform and existing therapeutic agents administered in metered-dose inhalers (MDIs). Join us as a SHE Specialist at our Redwood City, CA site, the leading center of innovation in the West.

The SHE Specialist will provide Safety, Health, and Environmental Support to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and company standards and values.

What you will do:
  • Support day-to-day SHE operations and process management
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHE management system processes and sustainability program
  • Lead accident management activities to determine root causes, prevention, and corrective measures to prevent a recurrence
  • Lead projects to design safe workspaces, create policies for employees to follow that minimizes job-related hazards, and drive initiatives that support site sustainability strategy
  • Conduct SHE inspections, document findings, issue reports to management, and ensure close out of action plans
  • Develop and maintains strong communication between all functional departments to foster support for SHE programs


Essentials:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree


Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within an environmental, health, and safety role.


Preferred:
  • BS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related field, Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Certifications - ASP/CSP certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies and requirements
  • Practical experience with Ergonomics, providing education/training, risk assessment, incident analysis
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with Supervisors and Associates
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently while handling competing demands and tight deadlines
