Our Global Portfolio and Project Management Organization (GPPM) is seeking a Director of Portfolio Control Tower to join the team in this business critical role. Central to R&D and Governance leadership decision making is having a clear, accurate, and up-to-date understanding of the pipeline and upcoming catalysts. This role will lead a cross-functional team delivering this via the new Portfolio Control Tower application and help drive one of the key elements of the GPPM vision of Advancing data-focused decision capabilities.

The position will have 3 key deliverables:
  • Lead the GPPM team, working with IT and Digital Health, to deliver and advance new features in Portfolio Control Tower.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the solution meets the needs of Senior Leaders and Pipeline Governance committees in providing key information, performance tracking metrics and analytics about the pipeline to enhance decision making.
  • Merge our current paper-based reporting into Portfolio Control Tower.
This position will lead the Portfolio Control Tower project for GPPM, working collaboratively with IT and Digital Health. The focus of the role is to ensure that the platform delivers to Senior Leaders and Governance Committees transparent, real-time, accurate information and analytics on the pipeline. This role is not responsible for the technical delivery, but drives the strategy, sets priorities and manages expectations and challenges in this complex project.

  • Ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Lead a cross-functional group to deliver a high quality platform that meets stakeholder needs.
  • Working in collaboration with GPPM partners, sets the priorities for the delivery team based on an understanding of organizational business planning calendars and business process/technical feasibility.
  • Manage the security of highly sensitive information.
  • Maintain line of sight into data quality and work closely with data leads to manage any issues.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems in a collaborative manner with stakeholders needs in mind.
  • Ability to "see the future" in digital and how it can be harnessed to support decision making about the pipeline.
  • Facilitate the transition of current reporting, performance metrics, and analytics deliverables to digital.
  • Ensuring all reporting and analysis adheres to high quality and consistency standards.
The candidate will have a solid track record of proactive problem solving skills, engagement with stakeholders, and the ability to manage ambiguity and being able to deliver high quality outputs. In addition, you will have:
  • 7+ years of experience within a pharma/biotech in a Portfolio, Finance or similar function.
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field, Master degree preferred
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team to effectively plan and deliver goals.
  • Experience presenting insights and analyses to senior management.
